WAI-Bluegrass Chapter Membership Meeting-Minutes from

Welcome Back old and new members! Thank you very much for coming
tonight!- We had 11 members attend

  • Introductions…if needed:) New officers: Christina-Treasurer, Lauren-Social Media Chair, Liz-
    Outreach Chair. Thank you for volunteering your time!!
  • Board meeting discussions-Board met on 4/17/21
    • adding more social events to our chapter calendar
    • every other month meetings with social gatherings in between- Yes! the members in
    attendance seemed to like this idea.
    • scholarships (GIAD)- We will be having a GIAD Committee meeting soon to discuss this.
    • mentor meetings- Yes, there was a lot of interest in having mentors group. Leah Golden
    volunteered to be the Director of this group. If you are looking for a mentor, please email
    me and I will get you connected with Leah.
    • subjects for meeting topics- a lot of topics were discussed. Internships with Ameriflight/
    UPS, Lift Academy. Drone/flight forward (UPS), career days at schools, having Frequent
    Flyer Sims come to a meeting, A&P night, Tower controller (ATC) night, Atlas tour, UPS
    tour.
    • in person GIAD 9/25/21 (12-4pm) Bowman Field- ideas for sponsors??- we all agreed we
    need to change the date to a Saturday in October. This will be discussed more at the
    GIAD planning meeting.
  • Ideas for social events/ meeting topics:
    • yew dell concert series
    • oldham gardens/ 3rd turn
    • norton commons
    • glass blowing-fire off westport rd.
    • Hermitage farms- thoroughbred farm tour
    • ice cream social (July?)
    • LifeLine pilot presentation(email)
    • Aviation Management roles for women
    • Pottery paint night

    fundraisers?
    • Fundraising committee…anyone want to join?
  • Emails/news/etc..
    • Brooke Owens Fellowship Program-if you are interested this, please contact me and I will
    forward you all the information I have.
    • Nelson County Carbon Cub-High school class project
    • Our own member, Terri Donner, to be inducted into the KY Aviation Hall of Fame, date tbd
    for ceremony.
    • Lastly….ideas for June’s social event? Where? When? (3rd Thursday is June 17th)-Meeting
    Cancelled…….See you in July:)
